HAS CENTER GROVE SOLD US OUT? Recently Center Grove High School agreed to a contract with the Pepsi Corporation for advertisement rights. In return Center Grove received a large sum of Pepsi money. The Pepsi Co. is also allowed to place their machines in our school cafeteria. Even more recently have they changed the machines from cans to larger more expensive bottles (which makes the problem worse). Center Grove has sold us out. With out taking our health into consideration, they signed it away. Of course we have the choice to drink soft drinks or not, but how many have already been drinking before the Pepsi Invasion. It seems that the people higher up the chain of command have ignored the possible health risks that come with drinking excessive amounts of caffeinated beverages. With their eyes full of money signs,---where do we end up in this???-Well here is what the Pepsi Co. and Center Grove High School so generously contributed to:EFFECTS OF EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF CAFFEINE ON THE BODY-Brain: Great amounts of caffeine causes over stimulation in the brain. Which can result in anxiety, irritability, and restlessness. When is the last time you saw that on a Mountain Dew Bottle ?-Heart: An over stimulated heart caused by caffeine creates higher blood pressure, and heart palpitations. I guess since the school allows it in the cafeteria its ok .
