The U'wa thrive in the cloud forests of Colombia. The U'wa's are a native who are indangered. Since April 1992, a American based oil company Occidental petroleum was granted drilling rights, Shell was also grated drilling rights by the Colombian government. The U'wa all agreed that if any oil company started drilling on their ancestrial land that they would all jump off a sacrid cliff that according to the U'wa oral histories , a portion of the tribecommitted mass suicide rather then surrender to the Conquistadores. A strong supporter Terence Freitas went to Colombia for his forth trip, after meeting with the U'wa to descuss what they should do about Oxy (Occental).
