Anxiety disorders are important to everyday life, because for people who have them, it can completely ruin their lives and can be very disabling to them. For example, sometimes, people with anxiety disorders can’t stop worrying about various things for hours at a time. They worry about things like shutting the stove off before leaving the house, and washing their hands so they are always clean, and other, little, things like that. The points discussed in this article were not discussed in depth in class. Some of the things that this article has taught me about anxiety disorders are that some people have a hard time confronting other people that they are not familiar with. For example, some people will only go to the grocery store with a spouse or someone that they really trust or feel safe with. Others won’t even leave the house at all. They are too scared to go out. They worry about what other people will think of them, and little things that don’t mean a lot to someone without an anxiety disorder. This article agrees with the classroom discussion, as well as going into further detail about anxiety disorders.
