Judge these trials are getting out of hand. Many people are being condemned when not everyone believes their guilt. There are reasons for the cry of witchery by these girls. Look at how many people in the town were jailed, there are barely any adults left in Salem. I can’t believe that you sentenced several people to death on hearsay evidence.Take a look at Thomas Putnam’s greed for land. I feel strongly that Thomas is pressuring his daughter, Ruth to accuse certain people of witchcraft, for his own advancement in society. Thomas is the only one who has the money to purchase the land that is going to be forfeited to the courts and put up for auction. Giles Corey even accused Thomas of this also.Mary Warren’s entire testimony should have been brought into perspective. Instead you only took out the parts that aided your previous judgments. Perhaps because you were afraid she was being truthful. If what she said about all the girls just sporting the whole thing then you would probably be ruined and banished from the town. You also threatened her with punishment if her story was true. Do you really think it is a coincidence that she changed her story? She only changed it to stay out of the crossfire.This affair between Abigail and John could have happened. How could you make judgment on Elizabeth’s Knowledge of the affair? Don’t you think she could have lied because of embarrassment? She is still with John even though he had an affair, wouldn’t you see that as embarrassing? She would also have the fear of being shunned from society. You also should have forced Abigail to answer the simple question about the affair. Judge these trials need to be stopped. There is no solid evidence for these convictions. Reverend Hale doesn’t believe that witches exist in Salem and he is an expert on this subject.
