Have you ever been to a place that’s absolutely perfect? A place with no room for imperfections? You may have, but chances are, probably not. Unfortunate for you, Ihave. This past summer, I received the opportunity to spend two weeks in a perfect place. A place often referred to as paradise. A place with great hospitality and picture perfectsurroundings among many other things. The perfect place that I’m referring to is Hawaii. Hawaii is a place where perfection is a major part of everyday life. In fact, it is everydaylife.Hawaii is a place where hospitality can still be found. Since, we have entered anage or an era of technological advancements, we have also entered an age of pureignorance and arrogance. Ignorance has long taken over the actions, attitudes and evenviews of many people. With good hospitality almost a thing of the past, a simple,“please” and “thank-you,” is virtually unheard of. When was the last time someone helda door open for you? Or, when was the last time someone thanked you for holding thedoor open for them? Chances are, for the most part, it has probably been a while.Have you tried crossing a busy street recently? It’s like a battle zone isn’t it. You’re risking your life to cross a street on foot. Those maniacs out there will hit you. However, in Hawaii things are totally different. Everyday people like you and I opendoors for each other. They even offer to help if they see you struggling with what you’recarrying. If you think having a door held for you is nice. Try having two lanes of trafficstop to a halt, just so you can cross the street. That’s right, in Hawaii, although this isn’ta law, pedestrians have the right of way.
