Playing football in Texas stadium was an experience like no other I have had. The crowd, the excitement of playing in an NFL stadium, and the anxiety of playing for a championship were among many of the reasons this experience made a lasting impression in my mind. Sitting in the locker room waiting for the biggest game of your life. The coaches talk about strategies while trainer’s taper athletes up. An athlete says prayer with the team. A referee come in and says, “two-minutes till game time.” The coach brings us in to tell us good luck. We then all go out onto the field.The crowd screams when we run out of the tunnel. Your adrenaline is racing like a jet engine. Twenty thousand people are staring at you waiting for your first move. You try to clear your mind, but the crowd gets to you. The opposing fans shaking cans full of beans trying to break your concentration. You just keep your mind on the opposing team and block out any frustration to go your way. The excitement of playing at Texas Stadium was a feeling like no other. You step on the field where a player that you have seen on TV has played on. The only thing that you want to do is get in the end zone like your NFL hero has done. Your knees buckle up just standing on the sidelines waiting for you chance to step on the field. Something comes from the back of your mind that you are playing in the Texas State Quarterfinal Championship game. This is the time to shine. There is no tomorrow. If you lose tonight, there are no more games. In ten years a spectator from the crowd will not even remember this game. You are a team player. Play for your team and yourself. That is what a championship game is all about?
