As a result of his physical disabilty, Casey Martin should be permitted to use a motorized golf cart on the PGA Tour. In addition, the prohibition on the use of golf carts should be removed. It is quoted that Martin has "a heart three times too big and a leg two times too small" (Reilly). He suffers from Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber syndrom, a degenerative disoder in whis right leg. Every other player who is solely concerned with winning should be completely emabarrassed and ashamed. Martin is a man with a dream to play and he should be given the best opportunity to accomplish this feat. If the opposition is going to argue that it is "unfair" and an "advantage" then why not simply remove the ban on golf carts all together? It would be a great deal easier to settle the controversy if every player were allowed to use a cart. Thus, Casey Martin would not be an alteration of the official rules, rather, the standar. Even still, history has shown that all major sports have in some way adjusted their policies for certain players with similar situation...
