There is a new law in the making that will prohibit students from participating in any activities after six oclock. In my opinion this law is not fair. This law is designed to give kids adequate time to do their homework and study. But at the same time, it punishes the good students who manage their time well and get all their work done. In theory, it has its good points. But in reality, it is unfair and unfeasible. First of all, this law would effect many people in a negative way. It would be almost impossible for parents to see their childs games. Most parents work. If the games have to be over by six oclock they would not get to see them. Also many practices run after six oclock. For instance, the basketball teams often practice at night because the gym is occupied during the day. This would not be possible if this law was put into affect. I am involved in the band, chorus and play this year. Many of the practices will go beyond the proposed six oclock curfew. Along with the practices, the performances go past six oclock. Though being out later than usual, I manage to study and get all of my work done. Any good student will make time for their work and studies no matter what time they are home.Many kids in the school do not do their work. They are lazy and do not care about their grades. A curfew is not going to make these kids do their work. They are still going to hang out and not do their homework. Lack of time is no their problem. Their problem is lack of parental involvement and laziness.In conclusion, this curfew law will not accomplish what it is setting out to do. I believe teenagers have plenty of time to get all their work and studies done. If they manage their time correctly and plan out what they have to do, the will be fine.The only thing this law is doing is punishing the good students who get involved and complete their assignments....
