Stereotyping is not just another form of making fun of people, it also encourages rejection and outcast. Stereotyping is not only cruel and harmful to people, it can also have major effects on how a person behaves and acts towards other people. It also makes who ever is stereotyping look like a fool. It also forms barriers in communication and everyday life.In this essay I’m gonna give senario’s that will give evidence to what I’m trying to say. But first let me give you a short definition of stereotyping. Stereotyping is putting a label on someone or a group who is different in a way that society looks down upon, Like looks, beliefs, and a persons background. For example, a person could be brought up to be nice, and have manners; but once they get into school and their different than most of the other kids they get picked on or abused because they don’t do or fit in with what the other kids are doing. To better explain this I’ll make a senario to provide a vivid picture in the readers mind.Jimmy was brought up to perform at an outstanding academic level. So his mom and dad put a lot of undue pressure on him. Since he couldn’t get below a B+, he didn’t have time to do any sports or extracurricular activities. And he spent all his time studying. All the other kids in his middle school and high school made fun of him. They put a social shadow on him just because he wasn’t in sports and that he studied all the time. They didn’t take into consideration that he had a lot of pressure on him. So after a long period of harassment and stereotyping he began to change.
