In the recent years the economy experienced the growth of many international companies. It is very common to have companies that have physical locations in many parts of the world. Audinting such entity presents a considerable challenge for audits. One of the reasons is that all of the Big Five accounting firms have offices in many countries is to effectively audit such multi-national audits. Considering such audits, auditors must consider the scope of audits. Planning of such audits becomes more complex often involving proper coordination of activities of many professionals throughout the world. The QPR discovered that majority of the firms adequately performed audits considering the above mentioned factors. The panel recommends the auditors should develop more expertise and industry knowledge to conduct these kinds of audits. The auditors should determine the criteria for periodically rotating the coverage of smaller locations. The panel suggested using analytical procedures to determine which locations to examine considering frequent presence of homogeneous locations.
