English 9Eighth Hour October 1, 2000 A: It is set in the 1950’s, in a town that is unknown, and it lasts approximately 3 to 4 days. B:The story is told in first person. C:The first part of the story mainly explains Ponyboy, and his life. The fist thing is when Ponyboy is walking home from the movies, and a gang called the Socs jumps him. He didn’t get jumped for too long though, because his brothers, Sodapop and Darryl, and a couple of his other buddies came and saved him. Then after that Ponyboy starts to explain his life. He lost his parents in an accident and he lives with is brothers, Darryl and Sodapop. Darryl has graduated and Sodapop is a dropout. Ponyboy is in high school. They live in the eastern part of town and they are the lower class, or also known as the Greasers. Their rivals are the rich gang called the Socs. Ponyboy then starts to get back to what is going on, he and Johnny go to the drive-in with Dally, a rough guy. They decide to sneak into the drive-in since Dally hates to do things that are illegal.
