Shanell Davis March 5,2001 Block 3 English Of Mice and Men Lennie is a static character in Steinbecks Of Mice and Men. Curley is also a static character. A static character is a character that remains the same throughout the whole novel. Therefore Curley and Lennie are static characters in this novel. By Curley’s Wife being dead lead Lennie to death. Lennie is a very tall, big, and strong guy. He is so strong that when he got into a fight with Curley, he broke his hand. The quote, “Curley’s fist was swinging when Lennie reached for it. The next minute Curley was flopping like a fish on a line, and his closed fist was lost in Lennie’s big hand. George ran down the room. ‘Leggo of him, Lennie. Let go (pg.63).’”My quote proves that Lennie is very strong. He is so strong that he grabbed Curley’s hand and just by squeezing it he broke just about every bone in his hand. Lennie messed up Curley’s hand really bad. The quote, “Looks to me like ever’ bone in his han’ is bust (pg.64).”Lennie never wants to hurt anybody. He just always wanted to make new friends. To me, he is the nicest guy out of the whole novel. The quote, ‘ “I didn’t wanta, Lennie cried. ‘I didn’t wanta hurt him (pg.64).’” That just proves how nice Lennie is to others. Any other person would just be like, ya I don’t care about Curley, I ment to do it, but Lennie is not like that. That just proves that Lennie is a very nice person. Lets talk about mean Curley.
